Apps – Receiving Transaction Processor
Receiving Transaction Processor:
Receiving Transaction Processor(RTP) is used to
process the pending or unprocessed receiving transactions. Receiving
Transaction Processor handles these transactions depends on the processing
mode, which is a profile option that is set at the site, application,
responsibility, and user levels.
Below table
indicates the Processing mode used after the work is saved for Receiving
Transactions:

The receiving
forms insert transaction information into the receiving interface tables.
These transactions remain in the interface table until the Receiving
Transaction Processor is run manually. The receiving forms take into account
all pending transactions, but purchasing does not update the transaction
history, source documents, and supply information until the transactions are
processed.

Immediate
|
When the
transaction is saved, the receiving forms call the Receiving Transaction
Processor for the group of transactions that are saved lastly. Note that this
is a specific group of transactions.

Online
|
Purchasing
calls the Receiving Transaction Processor once the transaction is saved.

Receiving
Transaction Processor performs the following functions:
1. Validates
Advance Shipment Notice (ASN) information in the receiving open interface
2. Derives and
defaults values into the receiving interface tables
3. Creates
receipt headers for Intransit shipments
4. Creates
receipt lines for all receipts
5. Maintains
transaction history information
6. Maintains lot
and serial transaction history
7. Accrues Uninvoiced
receipt liabilities
8. Maintains the
purchase order quantities: quantity received, delivered, accepted and rejected
9. Closes
purchase orders for receiving
10. Maintains
the following requisition quantities: quantity received, quantity delivered
11. Maintains
supply information
12. Maintains
inventory information (for Inventory destination type)
13. Maintains
outside processing information (for Shop Floor destination type)
